Marybank Farm - relaxed heritage bed and breakfast accommodation in the Adelaide Hills on sixty acres of secluded natural bushland, rolling farmland, and breathtaking views of Adelaide and the hills. It is the ideal base from which to explore Adelaide and central to South Australia's famous wine districts of The Adelaide Hills, The Barossa Valley and McLaren Vale, or the perfect getaway without the long drive home. Marybank Farm offers Heritage Accommodation, original Colonial gardens and Estate Winery on the property.
The Barn was built in 1852 as stables and is listed on the Register of the National Estate.
Since 1998 the barn has been converted to two self-contained apartments, "Killashandra" and "Pennan". However to ensure your privacy we take only one guest group at a time.
The maximum number accommodated is 4.
Killashandra is named after the town our ancestor Arthur Fox came from in Ireland. It is also appropriately the green room. The kitchen and sitting room overlooks the garden from sunny French Windows and the bedroom has a private rooftop balcony looking out on a huge river red gum tree which is an appartment house for native Australian birds. The clawfoot bath affords a view of the moon and stars.
Pennan is named after a coastal town in Scotland, movie lovers may remember it as the setting for "Local Hero". It is also the blue room and from the upstairs sitting room the view is distinctly rural; cows, a track winding up the hill past the vineyard and gum trees as far as the eye can see. The quaint downstairs bedroom is of whitewashed local stone and looks out into a shady private courtyard. Pennan has a 2 person spa-bath.
Located 20 km from Adelaide.
